Top Solutions to “Computer Can’t Connect to WiFi” Issue

Symptom:

I have a Lenovo Ideapad with Windows 8. I connected to the WiFi and it worked fine last night, but now it says it cant connect and the other people with me can connect. I have the password correct so I cant figure out whats wrong. I tried rebooting it. It didnt work.

Laptop or desktop cant connect to WiFi problem exists here and there. Fixes are different for different users. Below I will list what I know that help to fix WiFi connection problem. Please add your fix if it is not in the list. Thanks.

I have Windows 7 in my hand, so the demonstrations are based on Windows 7.

Fix 1: Disable Wireless Adapter and Enable It Again

• Click Start menu.

• Open Control Panel.

• Find Network and Sharing Center.

• Click Change Adapter Settings from the left bar.

• Locate your wireless adapter and right click on it.

• Choose Disable.

• Then click Enable.

Fix 2: Renew Your IP Address

Renewing IP address will prevent IP conflicts when your computer and another on the network have the same IP address.

• Open Windows command prompt: Start > Input cmd to search program.
• Release IP address: ipconfig/release > Enter.
• Renew IP address: ipconfig/renew >Enter.
• Exit the command prompt box.

Fix 3: Restart Your Computer and Wireless Router

Fix 4: Update Wireless Card Driver

Fix 6: Reset the Winsock Catalog

If you cant connect to the internet and got the message "Limited Connectivity" and "IP4V - No internet access" IPV6 - No internet access", maybe you need to reset the winsock catalog. Do as follows:

1. Run cmd as administrator

• Start >Search cmd >Right Click "Run as administrator" (Ctrl +Shift + Enter)

or

• Start > All Programs >Accessories > Command Prompt >Run as administrator 

Note that if the User Account Control dialog box appears, click "Yes" to allow the change.

2. Input netsh winsock reset, press enter, you will get this dialog box ?shown in the below?


3. Restart your computer.

Mengatasi Connect to Projector Tidak Muncul

Pernahkah kamu mengalami kebingungan saat menggunakan laptop tiba tiba tidak bisa connect atau menu connect to projector  tiba tiba tidak muncul. Dulunya sebelum diinstall ulang, saat kabel projector HDMI dihubungkan secara otomatis bisa connect ke projector. Namun tiba tiba tidak bisa connect setelah diinstall ulang. Bahkan di bagian connect to projector yang kita cari di menu search windows bisa kita temukan namun saat diklik tidak bisa masuk ke pengaturan. Heeeem ,, sebenarnya apa yang terjadi ya.

Masalah ini pernah dialami oleh teman saya yang memiliki laptop merk Lenovo  lenovo s215 windows 7 32bit. Laptop yang mulanya bisa connect ke projector tiba tiba tidak bisa conncet sama sekali. Awalnya cukup bingung juga kok bisa tidak connect. Setelah mendalami, ternyata asal mula masalahnya adalah karena laptop baru saja install ulang dengan windows yang baru. Setelah mendengar masalah tersebut, kami langsung praktek untuk mengatasinya. Akhirnya kami mencoba masalah ini melalui beberapa cara, yakni :

1. Kita cek dulu projector ke laptop lain. Cara ini adalah cara pertama yang kami lakukan. Yakni dengan memindahkan kabel HDMI ke laptop lainnya. Pada kasus ini, setelah dicoba dilaptop lain ternyata projector berjalan dengan lancar tidak ada hambatan. Artinya projector dalam kondisi sehat.

2. Cek kabel HDMI / HDMI ke VGA . Pengecekan ini juga sempat kami lakukan, namun hasilnya sama . Yakni kabel dalam kondisi normal. Karena saat kami coba pada laptop lain, projector dan kabel penghubung bisa digunakan. Lanjut ke langkah selanjutnya.

3. Masuk ke Control Panel >> Connect to Projector . Cara ketiga ini kami lakukan dengan cara memasuki pengaturan ke Connect to projector. Namun sayang seribu sayang. Saat kami mencoba memasukinya ternyata kami tidak bisa masuk ke pengaturan yang kami inginkan. Saat kami ketikkan kombinasi Windows + P juga tidak keluar pilihan display. Berarti sepertinya ada masalah dalam display.

4. Download driver VGA. Nah setelah 1 jam bergelut dengan masalah ini, akhirnya kami menemukan solusinya. Setelah kami cek, ternyata drive VGA untuk laptop yang bermasalah tersebut belum ter-install. Hal ini terjadi karena ketika selesai diinstall ulang mungkin lupa driver VGA nya belum diinstall. Akhirnya ketemu juga. Lanjut ke proses download driver VGA - Install driver VGA yang akan kita bahas pada bagian bawah tulisan ini.

SOLUSI Mengatasi Connect to Projector tidak muncul.

Kesimpulan. Jadi cara jitu untuk mengatasinya adalah dengan cara mendownload driver VGA nya, Pada kasus ini kami mendownload driver VGA untuk laptop Lenovo seri s215. Kamu bisa mencari driver VGA sesuai merk dan seri komputer/ laptop kamu. Caranya dengan mencari di google.com dengan contoh keyword seperti ini :

"Download driver [merk laptop] [seri laptop] [sistem operasi] [32-bit/ 64-bit ]"

 Contoh :

"Download driver lenovo s215 windows 7 32bit"

Akan muncul beberapa pilihan yang muncul. Usahakan pilih alamat website yang berasal dari situs resmi. Seperti lenovo.com , asus.com/id , dll. Selain terpercaya, pada situs resmi ini driver selalu di update sesuai kebutuhan. Berbeda dengan blog penyedia driver laptop.

Pada bagian website akan muncul spesifikasi dan jenis laptop kita. Di sana kita bisa memilih sistem operasi yang kita gunakan. Perlu diingat, tiap merk laptop dan website memiliki tampilan dan fitur yang berbeda beda. Disini kita mencontohkan pada situs resmi lenovo. Dengan laptop yang dinstall windows 7 32-bit.

Pilih sistem operasi

Setelah itu akan muncul beberapa pilihan driver yang kita butuhkan. Dalam kasus ini kita mengalami masalah dalam hal display laptop atau VGA laptop yang menyebabkan laptop tidak bisa conect ke projector. Oleh karena itu kita hanya membutuhkan driver VGA saja.

Pilih driver VGA, kemudian pilih download. Maka proses download akan berjalan. Tunggu hingga proses download selesai. Tergantung kecepatan koneksi masing masing. Untuk ukuran driver yang kami download ini berukuran 174 MB.

Setelah proses download selesai. Install file tersebut pada laptop yang tidak bisa connect ke projector. Ikuti proses install hingga selesai. Jika berhasil, maka akan ada notifikasi untuk me-restart laptop. Maka restart laptop agar perubahan yang terjadi bisa berpengaruh. Saat masuk ke windows lagi, maka sekarang laptop sudah bisa connect ke projector. Dan saat kamu menekan kombinasi tombol Windows + P maka sudah bisa muncul pilihan tipe display yang kamu inginkan.

"My laptop, HP Probook 4440s, had spyware and after multiple attempts to remove it through 2 different anti-virus software, I reformatted the hard drive, and reinstalled Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit from the Windows CD.
