Dell 14r with windows 7 is about 3 yrs old and will only run in safe mode. when started in regular mode, pc crashes within 5 to 20 minutes usually followed by a blue screen when restarted. it does run in safe mode.. Starting windows in safe mode does not, in itself, solve, prevent or cause any kind of windows problem. safe mode is simply a way of starting windows with a minimum set of drivers and services in the theory that the operating system will run correctly enough to let you fix the problem with whatever driver or service interferes with normal startup..
