Remove or reset BIOS password from Windows

This method works with Acer TravelMate 2490 laptop with Windows 7, but by the included cmospwd.txt works other BIOS versions and PCs or laptops.

Download and extract to a folder this software:
http://www.cgsecurity.org/cmospwd-5.0.zip

Log on to Windows as Administrator priviledges, or run an command prompt with administrating priviledges (Click Start-->Run: type CMD hit Ctr+Shift+Enter)
cd to the extracted directory (e.g. cmospwd-5.0)
then in cmospwd-5.0 cd to windows directory

To work on cmos memory, ioperm need to be installed and running. ioperm gives direct port I/O access for specified ports to user-mode process.

when you are already in e.g. cmospwd-5.0windows directory: type “ioperm.exe –i” hit enter.
to start ioperm service: type “net start ioperm” hit enter.
type: “Cmospwd_win.exe /k” hit enter, we will see:

1 - Kill cmos
2 - Kill cmos (try to keep date and time)
0 - Abort
Choice :

Type 1 and hit Enter to clear cmos or 2 to keep date and time.

Reboot computer and former BIOS password gone.

Cara Melihat Password Wifi Windows 10 dengan CMD

Pada tulisan kali ini kita akan membahas mengenai cara melihat password wifi windows 10 dengan cmd. Mungkin sebagian dari kita sangat jarang menggunakan CMD (Command Prompt) untuk mengecek sesuatu atau menjalankan suatu perintah. Atau dengan cara yang lain yakni dengan mencarinya melalui search windows 10 (contana) dengan mengetikkan "cmd" kemudian setelah muncul Command Promp > klik kanan pilih Run as administrator ( agar bisa masuk langsung ke system32).

Catatan : Cara melihat password wifi lewat cmd ini bisa dilakukan untuk mengetahui password wifi yang tidak terkoneksi dengan laptop di Windows 10  tetapi SSID-nya masih tersimpan.

Mengatasi Lupa Password Wifi Pada Windows 10

Pernahkan mempunyai pengalaman lupa password wifi rumah atau kantor? Atau mungkin kebingungan karena pernah connect ke suatu wifi tetapi tiba tiba disconnect dan lupa password. Nah berikut ini kami berikan tips cara mudah dan cepat untuk mengetahui password wifi sebagai solusi lupa password wifi pada pengguna windows 10.

Untuk langkah pertama, kamu masuk ke pengaturan wifi terlebih dahulu. Ada beberapa cara, salah satunya dengan menggunakan fasilitas pencaraian (search) pada windows 10 dengan mengetik "wifi" lalu klik ENTER.

Selain cara di atas, untuk masuk ke dalam pengaturan wifi di windows 10 kamu juga bisa langsung mengaksesnya dengan menekan  simbol wifi di bagian kanan bawah  (samping pengaturan suara) > lalu pilih Network Settings .

Setelah kamu masuk ke dalam pengaturan Network & Internet. Ada beberapa pengaturan wifi yang ditampilkan. Selanjutnya pilih Wifi > Change Adapter Options untuk masuk lebih dalam ke pengaturan password wifi di windows 10.

Akan muncul beberapa Network connection. Pilih yang WIFI lalu klik kanan > pilih status ( atau untuk cara cepatnya dengan klik dua kali/ double klik). Maka akan muncul status wifi yang ada pada koneksi wifi kamu.

Selanjutnya pilih “Wireless properties” pada jendela pop-up yang muncul untuk menuju ke pengaturan password wifi.

Jika sudah muncul, ada dua pilihan tab yang muncul yakni Connection dan Security . Selanjutnya kamu  pilih menu Security.

Maka akan terlihat kolom password yang muncul. Namun kamu belum bisa melihat password, karena masih dalam kondisi tersembunyi. Untuk memperlihatkan password, cukup centang kotak Show Characters di bagian bawah agar password bisa terlihat.

Nah...selamat!!.. sekarang kamu bisa mengetahui password WiFi-mu kembali. Sebagai contoh di atas ternyata passwordnya adalah "sateayam". Baca juga Cara Melihat Password Wifi Windows 10 dengan CMD. Western Digital My Passport forgotten password

If you have locked the drive with a password using WD SmartWare and have forgotten the password, you will no longer be able to access the data.

There is no solution for this problem.
So, there is no possibility to recover your data if you forgot WD password.
Data or partition recovery softwares cant rebuild the earlier ecrypted files and folders.

"Thank you for contacting Western Digital Support.

If you have locked the drive with a password using WD SmartWare and have forgotten the password, you will no longer be able to access the data.
The drive is encrypted using 256 bit AES encryption algorithm and for obvious security reasons WD does not make a copy of your password or store it anywhere.

You will need to enter an incorrect password five times and the WD SmartWare will prompt you to format the drive.
Once that is done, your drive will once again be accessible.
The data will be lost!

Setting Root Password on Ubuntu

By default, when we install a fresh ubuntu(server) OS, we do not have any root password set. The only access we have is just sudo access, which is set up in the first time we install it.

Therefore, we couldnt access some administrative previledges, such as "synaptic package manager". To set the root password, type this on the terminal:

$ sudo passwd

Enter your new password, verify it, then exit terminal.
